Dalit Engelhardt, PhD

Founder

Dalit's background bridges strategic and technical leadership in AI for the life sciences, with experience across technical innovation, commercial opportunity evaluation, and product strategy. Dalit has led R&D efforts in agentic AI, biological systems modeling, and generative molecular design in industry and academic settings, partnering with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams to deliver new capabilities and insights. Her work has focused on originating early-stage concepts and developing them into scientific capabilities and products, driving AI development from concept to launch.

Prior to founding Coescent, Dalit worked in AI-first origination and capability development at Flagship Pioneering, a life science-focused venture creation company, partnering with bioplatform portfolio companies and internal leadership teams to plan and deliver AI capabilities and internal products. Dalit was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University and at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she led research on new approaches to resolving tumor heterogeneity, modeling clonal dynamics, and control of drug resistance. She holds a PhD in physics from UCLA, where her research focused on non-equilibrium quantum dynamics and spacetime emergence.
